Mrs. Marie Culbertson Delffs

Alice “Marie” Culbertson Delffs, age 82, of Tullahoma, died peacefully Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Brother Jimmy Gray will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home. She was born November 2, 1938, in Marshall County, to the late John Hurt and Eva Leona Ashton Culbertson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Franklin Delona Dellfs, a brother, John Hurt Culbertson II, and a sister, Peggy Ann Culbertson Crunk. Marie’s most important and valued job was being a loving wife, mother, and devoted homemaker for her family. She excelled also as an artist, gardener, and enjoyed cooking, winning awards for her recipes. Farming was her and Franklin’s passion. They had a successful dairy for several years in the Singleton Community of Bedford County. After selling the dairy herd, they both ventured into showing poultry where she was awarded with ABA Master Breeder of Barred Plymouth Rock, SC Rhode Island Red, and Breeder of Excellence in Rhode Island Red. She is a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Flat Creek where she enjoyed playing the piano for many years. Survivors include her loving children who will greatly miss her: Phyllis Ann Godwin, and her husband Dennis, of Syracuse, Utah, Dana Lillian Limbaugh, and her husband Dwight, of Decherd, Tennessee, Della Lea Borders, and her husband Martin, of Canton, Georgia, Debra Lynn Polaski, and her husband Robert, of Monroe, Virginia, and Denise Luanne Dellfs, of Tullahoma; ten grandchildren, Sarah Peterson, and Dirk, April Witherspoon, and her husband Kris, Lindsey Borders, Tracey Mason, and her husband Shawn, Drew Borders, and his wife Suning, Christy Limbaugh, Zachary Borders, and his wife Stephanie, Ryan Polaski, and his wife Mia, Leslie O’Brien, and Russell Polaski; twelve great grandchildren, Kaylie Peterson, Renee Peterson, Blake Witherspoon, Cooper Witherspoon, Abigail Mason, Loralie Mason, Lillian Mason, Sean O’Brien, Fiona O’Brien, Jace Borders, Rhys Borders, and Harrison Polaski. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
