Mrs. Nona Freno Madeo

Mrs. Nona Freno Madeo, age 69, of Bell Buckle, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Tuesday, April 29, 2104, at St. William Catholic Church. Father Richard Gagnon will officiate, with burial to follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. She was born February 13, 1945, in Cumberland, Maryland. Nona worked with Bedford Cheese for over 30 years, and also farmed, along with her husband Chris and her bother in law, Joe. She was well know for her cake baking, and she loved to garden. She possessed a green thumb when it came to growing flowers. Bedford her disability, she was very active at St. William Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dr. Olive R. Harris, her husband, Christopher Madeo, her father in law, Commander Joe Madeo, and a nephew, Steven Madeo. Survivors include two sons, Chris Madeo, and his wife Evelyn, of Columbia, and Robert Madeo, of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Abigail Madeo, Christopher Madeo, Katlyn Madeo (aka- Angel Girl), and youngest grandson, Rocco Madeo, and George Ehret, a sister, Jo Ann Freno; brothers in law and sisters in law, Joseph Madeo III, and his wife Martha, of Murfreesboro, Maria D. Madeo, and her husband Jeff Koob, of Columbia, South Carolina, Martha A. Martin, of New Kent, Virginia, Peter D. Madeo, and his wife Christine, of Boonsboro, Maryland, Margretta E. Morris, and her husband Dennis, of Brewster, Massa chutes, and Richard G. Madeo, and his wife Carol, of Sequim, Washington; nieces and nephews, Eva Madeo Honeysuckle, Deborah Madeo, Charles Martin, III, Melissa Madeo Sizemore, Christopher Martin, Patricia Madeo Bowles, Matthew Morris, Roseanna Morris, Kelly Madeo Schultz, Amara Madeo, and Aggie Madeo Davis; several close relatives, Luci Shelton, Mary Joanna Shelton, William Dalton. Timothy Dalton, Phillip F. Remare, and Annie D’Ambrosio. Her life was enriched by caring friends, Margie Zermyno, Teresa Walchshauser, Dot Smith, and Dan and Kay Petty, and of course her beloved cat, “Sammie”. Memorials may be made to the Shelbyville Bedford County Humane Association. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
