Peggy Ann Cantrell

Peggy Ann Cantrell, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at the age of 79, in Shelbyville, TN. Born on April 29, 1945, in Chattanooga, TN, she was a cherished sister, friend, aunt, and great-aunt who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. She retired as a Production Mechanic at Albea after many years, making many life-long friends along the way. All of them now cherishing the memory of her laughter and friendliness. She was the loving sister of Patricia Gordon and the dearest friend to Vickie Thomas. Peggy's presence as an aunt was a gift to her many nieces and nephews, including Tammy Cantrell, Scott Cantrell, Chris Cantrell, Amanda McCall, and Sherry Snelling, among others. Her love extended to her great-nieces and nephews, with Terry Harrell, Cody Cantrell, and Chloe Fleming to name a few; All of them holding special places in her heart. Peggy's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with grace and devotion. Peggy was preceded in passing by her parents, Finis Cantrell and Lola Rice Cantrell; her brothers, Joe Cantrell and Billy Ray Cantrell; and her dear nephew Anthony Harrell and niece Tina Cantrell. The legacy of kindness and love they shared continues to live on through the family's cherished memories. An avid gardener, Peggy found joy in the simplicity of nurturing plants and watching them flourish under her care. She also enjoyed spending time outside watching birds and watching the sun rise. A truly loving and thoughtful soul, Peggy Ann Cantrell will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, straight forwardness, feistiness, and faith will continue to shine brightly, much like the sunshine she so adored, reminding us of the warmth and light she brought into this world. Peggy's life will be celebrated in a service, officiated by Elder Tommy Stiltner, that honors her memory and the profound impact she had on those around her. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of remembrance. As Peggy enters into eternal rest, her spirit of love and compassion remains a guiding light for us all.
