Born on January 2, 1937, in Marshall County, TN, Rachel's warmth and kindness touched all who knew her throughout her 87 years. Rachel was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest P. Hilliard and Leslie Nelson Hilliard. She was the devoted wife of the late Melvin Miller, with whom she shared a life full of love and companionship. Rachel was also the caring sister to Frances, Dottie, Lois, Geneva, Ruth, Joe, Bill, Howell, and Don Hilliard, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving son, Dale Miller, and her eight nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Rachel spent many years as a dedicated housekeeper at the Bedford County Medical Center. Her work ethic and amiable nature made her a well-respected and integral part of the team. She was a woman who took pride in her work and the connections she made through her role at the medical center. Her interests were a reflection of her joyous spirit and love for life. Rachel found great pleasure in traveling with her son to the mountains and the beach, where they created countless treasured moments. An avid collector, Rachel delighted in seeking out unique thimbles, spoons, and glass hen trinket boxes.
