Mr. Burnard Glasscock

Mr. Burnard Glasscock, age 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015, at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Lanita Monroe will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday, 11 AM until service time at the church. He was born March 24, 1927, in Bedford County, to the late Edgar Lafayette Glasscock and Tommie Howard Scales Glasscock. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Bell Telephone Company, loved to play golf and was a master craftsman. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death are a son, Barry Lynn Glasscock, in 1963, and a brother, Edward Levoy “Pete” Glasscock. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Honey Lou Deering Glasscock, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Janice Ann Glasscock, of Nashville, and Mary Katharine Glasscock (Daniel) Ray, of Nashville; sister in law, Lillian Orr Glasscock, of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Suzanne (Robert) Thompson, Caroline (Stanley) Berry, Hannah (Ben) McCall, Lauren Ray, and Sarah Ray; a great grandchild, Raylan Joseph McCall. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
