Mr. Elmer Wallace "Coach" Hancock, age 91, of Shelbyville, passed away November 18, 2020. Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M. Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Prosperity Cemetery in Auburntown, Tennessee. Chaplain Jack Kennington will officiate. He was bon May 5, 1929, in Cannon County, to the late Elmer Ray Hancock and Elizabeth Lucille Gaither Hancock. He was the Coach at Shelbyville Central High School for many years and will lovingly remembered as ‘Coach’ by many. He was a faithful member First Christian Church where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of Riverbend Country Club and their ‘Gaggle’ Club. He loved his faith, his family, golf, music and all sports. He is preceded in death by his step-son, James Clayton Carter. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Hancock, of Shelbyville; a daughter, Tonya Vernon, and her husband Bryan, of Stathum, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Natalie Barber Dennis, and her husband Chad; and five grandchildren: Callie Mae Vernon, Jefferson "Jake" Ryan Vernon, Rickee Gayle Carter, Justin E. Farris, and Timothy Nolan Farris. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored for memorials to be made to Hospice Compassus 1805 N. Jackson St Tullahoma, TN 37388. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
