Mr. James "Jim" Alfred Curtis
December 4, 1944 - March 11, 2022
James Alfred Curtis, age 77, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Nashville Veterans Hospital. Jimmy, or as many knew him, Jim, was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late William Allen Curtis and Daisy Reed Curtis. Up until his retirement in 2009, he was owner/operator of Randolph and Vandergriff in Tullahoma. Prior to that, he worked at Western Auto, General Felt, and Dials Superette, in Shelbyville. He was recently a faithful member of Edgemont Baptist Church, and before that, a faithful member, and Deacon, at Bible Presbyterian Church. A veteran of the United States Army, 1st Signal Battalion, he served during the Vietnam War. As a veteran, he held membership in the American Legion Post 23 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 5019. Following his service, he became an amateur radio operator, with the handle KA4PWS. He was also a volunteer with the Bedford County Emergency Management Agency. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Heflin Curtis, of Shelbyville; a son, James Steven Curtis., of Shelbyville; sisters, Sylvia Curtis Warren, of Shelbyville, and Janyce Curtis Duncan, of Winchester; grandchildren, Delaney Curtis and Aubrey Curtis, of Shelbyville. Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Edgemont Baptist Church. Pastor Jimmy West will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Monday, and again one hour prior to service Tuesday, at the church. Jim would honored with memorials made to Edgemont Baptist Church. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
