Mr. Jerry Earl Robinson

May 28, 1947 - March 6, 2022

Jerry Earl Robinson, 74, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from natural causes. Jerry was born May 28,1947 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was predeceased by parents, Dewey Brown Robinson and Evalene Briley Robinson. He is survived by a brother, John Ray Robinson (Phyllis) and four sisters, Eva Robinson Hale (Nathan), Betty Robinson Webster (Bill), Robbie Robinson Norman (Jim), Mavis Robinson McNeese (Mike) and several nieces and nephews (plus many great, and great-great nieces and nephews) Jerry was a private person who did not want funeral services. Sergeant Robinson was a good soldier in the United States Army. His commendations include National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a Paratrooper and trained other soldiers for paratrooping in battle. Sergeant Robinson was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Jerry was a unique individual with many interests, including: Music. He could play the guitar, piano, and even a little saxophone; Ham Radio. Jerry was a Certified Ham Radio Operator and communicated with people around the world daily; Reading. Jerry was an avid reader and encouraged others to read. Quoting one of his favorite authors, James Patterson, "The best way to get kids reading more is to give them books that they'll gobble up - and that will make them ask for another." Jerry served as City Manager in Shelbyville, Tennessee and Red Bank, Tennessee, Jefferson City, Tennessee, Collierville, Tennessee, and a town in Mississippi. He was an active member of his church in Shelbyville, until Covid.
