Chief Warrant Officer 5 Joe Clifford, 65, died on February 15, 2016 in Murfreesboro, TN. A U.S. Army veteran, he served 33 years in the military. Chief Clifford was born on August 22, 1950 in Shelbyville, TN to Madge and Arthur Clifford. In 1968 he joined the armed forces and served faithfully across the country and the globe. Amongst his many tours of duty he was stationed throughout Germany, Korea, and as a member of the Old Guard in Fort Meyers, VA. Chief Clifford retired on May 31, 2001. Upon his retirement he returned to his home state of Tennessee. Chief Clifford was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a patient and loving father. He married Candy Clifford in Frankfurt, Germany in 1971. They spent the next 44 years loving and supporting each other. Chief Clifford enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, chauffeuring his wife, cooking, and traveling. But more than anything he loved being with his family. It was his biggest source of pride and the most important thing in his life. He is survived by his wife, Candy, son, Jeffrey, grandson, Jack, brother, Tommy, and daughter in-law Maggie. A visitation with the family will take place at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville, TN on February 17, 2016, from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
