Louise Clanton, 89 of Shelbyville, TN passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Brother Charles Williams will officiate, with burial to follow in Horse Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4:30 – 9 PM Saturday, and again one hour prior to service Sunday, at the funeral home. She was born She was born in Shelbyville on June 27, 1929 to J.W. and Ada Hurt. She married George Clanton on Dec. 20, 1947 and they enjoyed 70 years together. She worked at Model Sportswear and Wal-Mart in the fabric department. Her favorite things included decorating for every season/holiday, sewing, cooking, shopping, playing the piano, camping at the river and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband George F. Clanton (husband of 70 years) brothers: Carney Hurt, Earl Hurt, Horton Hurt, J.W. (Dub) Hurt and James Hurt and sisters, Jane Hinton and Willie Hurt, and a great grandson Christian Cook. Survivors include two daughters, Janice (David) Hastings of Petersburg, and Linda (Howard) Nichols of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Janeane) of Wartrace, Angie (Kevin) Gunter of Shelbyville, Jill (Scott) Cook of Shelbyville, and Clint Nichols of Shelbyville; step grandchildren, Jill (Jody) Dunivan of Petersburg, Melissa Mitchell of Cornersville, and Chad Hastings of Petersburg; great grandchildren, Drew, Zac, and Ryan Taylor of Wartrace, Hayden Gunter of Shelbyville, Jordyn and Jayla Cook of Shelbyville, Clay and Sam Mitchell of Cornersville, Maggie and Ty Dunivan of Petersburg, and Ryan, Joe and Julie Hastings of Petersburg. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
