Mrs. Sarah Louise Hudson

Sarah Hicks Hudson, age 89 of Shelbyville went to join her loved ones in heaven on Thursday January the 21st, 2021. Sarah Louise Hicks Hudson was born in Alberta Alabama June 16th 1931 and was the youngest of six children born to Benjamin Franklin Hicks and Lucy Cathcart Hicks. Sarah graduated from Mary Washington College where she obtained her degree in Primary Education. Sarah taught school on and off for 60 years as well as being a Licensed Real estate agent in the Nashville area. She was an excellent Southern Style cook and her baking skills were loved by all. Sarah also enjoyed travelling and was an avid reader with frequent visits to the Library. She never missed her favorite College football games nor did she miss an Atlanta Braves game either. Sarah was active at The First United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a part of the prayer chain as well as baking for her Church events. Outside of spending time with family, one of her greatest joys was her love for animals. She had a very special companion, Willard the cat, that brought her comfort and entertainment especially during the last year. Sarah will be remembered as one who loved her friends, family, and her God. She will also be remembered for her giving heart, her beautiful smile, and her zest for life. She had a life fully lived and will not be forgotten. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Walter Robert Hudson Jr. and son Walter Robert Hudson III. She is survived by two daughters; Cathcart Hudson Louque Coalmont, Tn. and Emily Hudson Overcast (Dickie Overcast) Shelbyville, Tn., daughter-in-law Alicia Sayle Hudson Shelbyville, Tn., and close niece Mary Hicks of Selma Alabama. Grandson Jefferson Andrew Dyer (Jenny Dyer) of Bristol Tn., and Granddaughters Sydny Alexandra Stewart (Brian Stewart) Dixon Tn., Sarah Margaret McGhee Nashville Tn., Brook Hudson Pulley Watertown, Tn., Claire Hudson Blackwell (Jason Blackwell) Spring Hill, Tn., Julia Paige Hudson Smyrna, Tn., Elena Jordan Hudson, Shelbyville, Tn., and Patricia Sayle Erwin (Dustin Erwin) Jonesboro, Tn.. Great Grandchildren Lillian Faith Pulley, John Atticus Blackwell, Ana Grace Williams, Charlotte Ann Williams, Alder Parker Erwin and Gideon Lynn Erwin. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM Monday, January 25, 2021, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Dr. Paul Mullikin of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
