Mrs. Sue Womble
April 25, 1922 - June 5, 2015
Mrs. Sue Womble, age 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015. Graveside services will be 3:30 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pastor Marshall Gupton will officiate. The family will receive visitors 1-3 PM Sunday the Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. She was born April 25, 1922, in Lynchburg, Tennessee, to the late James and Addie Mae Laws Pierce. She was a homemaker, and along with her husband Buford, owned and operated the family business, Womble Trucking. She also worked with the Bedford County School System and managed the VFW Food Booth at the Celebration for 35 years. She was a member of First Christian Church before failing health prevented her from attending. Her greatest pleasure was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and care for them. As a way to show her family she was listening, she was known to prepare the same dish several different ways to please her family. Her family was her greatest joy. Mrs. Womble was preceded in death by her husband Buford in 2007, and a son, Eddie Womble, in 1995. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda (Bob) Payne, of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Susan (Dennis) Hurst, Tripp (Teri Jo) Womble, Phil (Lynette) Womble, Rob (Gretchen) Payne; nine great grandchildren, Philip (Delanie) Womble, Bailey Womble, Jake Hurst, Eric Womble, Macey Hurst, Owen Womble, Whit Payne, Sam Payne, and Anabelle Sullenger. Memorials may made to First Christina Church or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
