Mr. Willie Cleven Leslie

January 24, 1938 - August 6, 2018

Willie Cleven (Che) Leslie was born January 24, 1938, in Limestone County, Alabama, to the late Robert and Roberta Hammonds Leslie. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly mansion on Monday, August 6, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Willie was preceded in death by four brothers: Vann Leslie, Hamp Leslie, Eddie Leslie, and Robert O. Leslie, and two sisters: Linda Kennerly and Aileen Kelso. He was educated in Lincoln County. He accepted Chirst at an early age and was a member of Mullin's Chapel AME Church. He was an over the road truck driver for 42 years and retired from Yellow Freight Systems of Nashville, TN, with a membership of the 480 Teamster Union. He received various awards such as a 5 year non-injury award, safety award, and anniversary award. He was joint owner of Braylon's Family Restaurant. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife: Nancy Flack Leslie, sons: Bobby Buchanan, of Detroit, MI, James Leslie, of Shelbyville,TN, and Michael (Christal) Leslie, of Decherd, TN; daughter, Florette Stewart, of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Brandon Jennings, of Fayetteville, TN, Shannon Buchanan, of Nashville, TN, Kisha Moore, of Huntsville, AL, Braylon (Kimberly) Leslie, of Shelbyville, Zanna Leslie, and Michael Leslie, Jr., both of Decherd, TN, Malaya Leslie, Jamiah Murray, Jazmine Western, Jordan Leslie, Janiyah Leslie, all of Shelbyville, TN, Deonche Moore, Aquoreya Allen, Kemiya Moore, and Cyon Moore, all of Huntsville, AL, and one great-great grandchild, Cavonnte Moore; brothers: Willie (Verna) Leslie, of Fayetteville, TN and Billy Leslie, of Shelbyville, TN; sisters: Flo Dangerfield, Cathy Kennerly, and Barbara (Stanley) Henderson, all of Shelbyville; brothers-in law: Oneil Flack, Jeanette (Ernest) Kennerly, of Shelbyville, TN, and Billy Kennerly, of Winchester, TN; sister-in law: Reverend Annie Couch, of Murfreesboro, TN, Alie Dashiell, Odesa Leslie, Gladys Flack, all of Shelbyville, TN, Margaret (James) Brown, of Wesley Chapel, FL, Ida Leslie, of Flint, MI, Audrey Leslie, of Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
