Misty Dawn York

Misty Dawn York, age 40, of Shelbyville, passed away May 10, 2023. She was born January 10, 1983, to the late Carl Michael York and Pam Connely. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by step mother, Lesa York; grandmother, Lois York; an uncle, Alfred York, Jr., and an aunt, Carolyn Wilkinson. Survivors include her husband, Justin "Sleepy" Pickle; children, Seth Mycheal Houston York, Heavanne Lee York, Kiya Gayle York, and Charletta Wynne York; step children, Adrian Thompson and Kayden Thompson; and her loving dog, Phantom; grandfather, Alfred York, Sr.; Grandmother Connelley, and Uncle Donnie cousins, Lisa York and Jeremy York Misty had a gypsy soul! She loved her husband and children and she was so very proud to be a mama to four amazing children and stepchildren, and many others she took in along the way. And she would say to them today be the reason someone can still see their purpose! Be the light in a dark world to bring one soul at a time out of the darkness! Misty always appreciated the fact that she could bring smiles to everyone’s faces. She wanted everyone to know their worth and every bit of them were worth it. Her mission in life as she said was to save one soul at a time and remind them that they are loved. She wanted everyone to know that they were loved unconditionally. Misty’s love could reach to the ends of the universe. She was very proud to be a part of so many peoples' lives and she saved so many lives, and families! Misty also thoroughly enjoyed playing pool, and bragging about it. She could beat anyone that was up to challenge her. She loved the thrill of a five speed and working on anything that was broke on a car. She was very creative with any idea she had! She put a special Misty touch to it. While here, she had taken lost confused or the unloved under her wing and would nickname them all kid. She would want them to carry on her understanding and uniqueness and love for all things. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting with the funeral arrangement. Funeral services will be held at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 11 AM, with burial to follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Family will be receiving visitors from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, May 15, 2023.
